Dog Day Afternoon

I saw Dog Day Afternoon this week for the first time.  It was so great to see Al Pacino in his prime; he's so slight and youthful and healthy-looking in this movie.

I watched it again with commentary from director Sidney Lumet.  He said the movie is about humanity, and the idea that our humanity can connect us to weirdos, wackos, people on the fringe.

He didn't put any music in the movie except for the Elton John at the beginning, as he wanted the story (based on actual events) to seem as believable as possible.
